Week Fifteen: Facebook Gains
So, I’ve set up a Facebook page to supplement this site. Shave The Wookiee, of course. Here I’m going to share memes and recipes, some general fun. If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already got a Facebook account, so go over and give the page a like, comment on a photo, or add one of your own! I’m trying to also do Wednesdays as a day of motivation, posting a motivational quote to get me and anyone watching a boost.
Any ideas for what else I could do on Facebook? Something you want to see?
Anyway, this week I’ve finally upped the weights so it’s a bit more of a struggle. I say struggle, but it was simply that I could feel it slightly more, though it still wasn’t heavy. It won’t be long until I’ll have to introduce the resistance bands. I’ve deadlifted 30kg now (66lbs) with an eye to up it again, possibly to 40kg (88lbs), possibly only an extra kilo each end with 6kg weights on top of the 10s!
A few exercises I’m still not fully confident on, and that I can’t do because of the equipment, or in the case of pull-ups, I’m not physically capable. For those, I’ve been doing it almost horizontally under the dinner table (which is big, wooden, and sturdy), still doing the same move, and retracting the scapula. See, I’ve learnt something scientific!!!!!
Anyways, I’m down to 136.8kg (at least at last weigh-in I was). My wife keeps saying it shows, but I can’t see it. I’ve felt it a little at work as I can now get into one of the smaller size overalls (yes, even though I’m a chef, I have to wear frikkin overalls/jackets with hilarious mob caps and beard snoods). But it’s an achievement nonetheless!
DID YOU KNOW?
That weightlifters and bodybuilders have two separate plans or programs for gaining weight and losing it? Bulking and cutting. Bulking is a race to add calories in the off-season and put on mass, whilst cutting is the term for getting shredded before competitions so that the body fat is gone, and the huge muscles are left for all to see.
