Week 6: The Return
So…. The return….
No, not THAT return.
I’ve lapsed over the Christmas period. How was yours by the way?
Two weeks of neuralgia and the leg ulcer keeping me awake all night every night except for an hour or three led to me abandoning the weight loss. It’s been a year since the first ulcer reared its ugly head on my shin, and nearly a year of pain has led to me being quite low. It’s exhausting even when I’m not doing anything, sapping my strength. I ate way too much over Christmas, and because of this crap.
But finally the neuralgia has fucked off, at least for a while. So back on it!
I’ve started a daily routine of five minutes of plank exercises: 1 min. full plank, 30 secs elbow plank, 30 secs each side raised-leg plank, 30 secs (each side) side planks, and then another 30 secs full plank and 1 min. elbow plank. I can definitely feel my abs!!!! And it’s a nice little warm-up/stretch before a HIIT session. I found it on Pinterest, a place that has so many exercises and routines it’s unbelievable. In fact, I found my HIIT exercise on there as well, one which I know I can do!!!
Back to Christmas! What lovely goodies did you get? I got lots of fitness stuff! Resistance bands and TRX-like bands and handles, as well as a luscious yoga mat (with the mantra “No excuses Train hard” printed on it). I’ve been looking at some other bits, including an EZ grip bar and skipping ropes, but not just yet until I can get myself into a decent habit of exercise. How did you all fare with the Christmas binges?
So I weighed in this Friday just gone, and it wasn’t too bad (not as bad as I was worried about actually).
I was seriously expecting it to be up close to 150kg after everything (like, EVERY damn mince pie I laid eyes on) I ate over the Christmas period.
DID YOU KNOW?
That mince pies really did used to have minced meat in them? It was once oblong and large, but by Victorian Times, it was small, round, and filled with mixed fruits! And absolutely delicious. *Sigh* I’ll have to wait until next year!
