Week Five: Hard Work
Work, as in the day job, has been hard work, especially with this nightmarish leg ulcer making sleep harder and harder. Doing eleven hours a day in constant pain isn’t fun, at all; it’s debilitating and tiring all by itself, never mind the manual labour. I know there are people with far worse than me, and I push through. But that’s during the day. At night, when it aches and stings like a bastard, it’s hard to sleep, I can barely sit or lie still. As this publishes, I’ve had two nights of almost no sleep at all because of the pain.
I’ve still maintained the “At least five minutes” rule, every day in fact. Some days even twenty incline push-ups on the kitchen counter are a struggle, more so mid-week after a couple of days’ work.
Still, I went to see STAR WARS THE LAST JEDI!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOHHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
It was fricking brilliant! Mark Hamill was a godsend, and of course lots of Chewie kicking arse!!!
All this lack of sleep has created some time to add hideous amount of hours on Skyrim (I think I’m up to 114 hours total according to Steam). I’m Level 35, and just entered the Labyrinthian to track down the Staff of Magnus. Screw you, Skyrim is awesome!
I’ve still been watching fitness videos, especially by the awesome Jeff Cavaliere (Athlean-x.com), and started taking actual physical notes, especially his videos on motivation. If you haven’t already, or aren’t aware of him, you should go over to his YouTube channel and check it out. I’m actually quite tempted by his basic program. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, eh? I need to get the weight down before I can worry about something like that.
Weigh-in was a horror story:
143.6kg!!! I’ve put on 2kg! Shit.
I had a day of not exercising traditionally, but an afternoon of lifting heavy shit into the loft, and cleaning out under the stairs. Hopefully that won’t go against me.
